What is Days for Girls?
Days for Girls is an international non-profit organization with the goal to get every girl and woman in the world access to quality sustainable hygiene & health education.
Days for Girls produce kits and partners with local organizations to distribute kits to areas in need.
February 2015, Grace Fellowship started a team.
• 1 Washcloth (fun colors)
• 1 Travel sized soap
• 2 Freezer Zip-Lock bags (no sliders)
• 2 Girls Panties (size 10-16, fun colors)
• Three sewn items:
A DRAWSTRING BAG, 2 SHIELDS, and 8 LINERS.
What if not having sanitary supplies meant DAYS without school, DAYS without income, DAYS without leaving the house? Without proper hygiene and feminine products, girls use leaves, mattress stuffing, newspaper, corn husks, rocks, anything they can find…but still miss up to 2 months of school every year. It turns out this issue is a surprising but instrumental key to social change for women all over the world. The poverty cycle can be broken when girls stay in school.
Meets monthly at Grace Fellowship. Typically the 2nd or 3rd Monday of the month.
